Walk Leader: Eileen

About this walk

Step back in time as we explore Benson’s fascinating coaching history on this gentle, level walk around the village.

Using a hand-drawn historical map, we will discover the buildings that were once inns, public houses and beer shops—and there were far more than you might imagine! Along the way, Eileen will share interesting facts and stories about the village’s rich past, making this a lovely blend of local history, fresh air and great company.

*****

Hosted by Eileen, our Bimbles are relaxed, sociable walks suitable for most abilities, lasting around an hour, with plenty of opportunities to chat, connect and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of being outdoors.

Bimbles are level strolls around the historic village of Benson and its beautiful surrounding countryside.

This is a Blended Wellbeing organised event, led by a designated Walk Leader who has completed the online Ramblers Walk Leader course. Every route is planned in advance with both enjoyment and safety in mind.

Many members choose to continue chatting over a cup of tea afterwards. While you are very welcome to join them, any arrangements made after the walk are informal and between members, rather than part of the organised Blended Wellbeing event.

  • Please let the Walk Leader know before the walk if you have any medical conditions or concerns that may affect you whilst walking.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather, terrain and time of year, and remember to bring water.
