About this walk:
Thrupp Lake Nature Reserve Circular

Join us for a peaceful circular walk of approximately 3 miles, exploring the beautiful wetlands, lakes and nature reserve managed by Earth Trust.

This gentle route follows the waymarked trails around Thrupp Lake before extending onto surrounding public footpaths, creating a longer circular walk through tranquil countryside and waterside habitats. The paths are mostly level, although some sections can become muddy after wet weather, so suitable footwear is recommended.

Thrupp Lake is one of Oxfordshire’s hidden wildlife gems, home to more than 120 species of birds as well as dragonflies, butterflies and an abundance of wildflowers throughout the seasons. It’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy nature, chat with friends and simply take a deep breath.

Parking:
Free parking is available in the Thrupp Lake car park.

  • Please let the Walk Leader know before the walk if you have any medical conditions, injuries or mobility concerns that may affect you whilst walking.
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for the weather, terrain and time of year, and remember to bring water.

Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome on this walk, provided they are kept under close control and are comfortable walking with a group. Please be considerate of other walkers, livestock and wildlife.

Many members choose to continue chatting over a coffee or drink afterwards. While you are very welcome to join them, any arrangements made after the walk are informal and between members, rather than part of the organised Blended Wellbeing event.

Please note: The Walk Leader reserves the right to amend, shorten or cancel the walk if weather conditions, route conditions or any other circumstances make it unsafe to proceed.

*****

Enjoy a Walk & Talk through some of Oxfordshire’s beautiful countryside, villages and places of interest while spending time in great company.

Hosted by Tracy, our Walk & Talks range from gentle countryside walks to longer hikes, typically lasting between one and two hours. While Tracy leads many of our walks, Blended Wellbeing also has a growing pool of designated Walk Leaders, enabling us to offer walks and hikes of varying distances, terrain and difficulty.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxed stroll or something a little more challenging, there’s something for everyone. Our walks offer the perfect opportunity to enjoy fresh air, discover beautiful places across Oxfordshire, make new friends and experience the many wellbeing benefits of being outdoors.

This is a Blended Wellbeing organised event, led by a designated Walk Leader who has completed the Ramblers Walk Leadership Foundations Course. Every route is recced in advance and planned with both enjoyment and safety in mind.
