SUMMARY:Quiz Night at The Wandering Kitchen
DESCRIPTION:There is no official host for this event\, but you will always find a warm Blended Wellbeing welcome! This much-loved monthly Quiz Night is a brilliant way to enjoy good food\, plenty of laughs and a little friendly competition. \nPlease arrive from 6.30pm to order your own food and refreshments before the free quiz\, which usually begins between 7.15pm and 7.30pm. The quiz is provided free of charge by the venue for diners\, so we kindly ask that everyone purchases food as a courtesy to our hosts. \nAs we reserve tables with this wonderful independent business\, we would really appreciate it if you could let us know as soon as possible if you are no longer able to attend. This allows the venue to offer your seats to other customers and helps us maintain the excellent relationship we have built with them. \nThank you for your understanding and support. \nNew to Blended Wellbeing? 💜 Please contact Tracy if you’d like to be met outside or introduced to a friendly buddy. We’re here to help you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. \nThis event is organised by The Wandering Kitchen.

SUMMARY:Book Club with Sue - (The Eights by Joanna Miller)
DESCRIPTION:Book Club with Sue\nWhether you are an avid reader or simply looking for great conversation\, our monthly Book Club is a relaxed and welcoming way to spend an evening. Hosted by Sue in her home\, you will enjoy friendly discussion over a cup of tea or coffee\, kindly provided by Sue. \nThis Month’s Book\nAuthor: Joanna Miller \nTitle: The Eights \nBook Club Guidance\nTo help everyone enjoy the discussion and take part\, we ask that members read the book in full before attending. \nSue’s top tip is to read at least the first 50 pages before deciding whether a book is for you. Many books take a little while to find their rhythm\, and you may find yourself pleasantly surprised! \nOur discussions are informal\, friendly and inclusive. We begin by going around the room\, giving everyone the opportunity to share their thoughts on the book (around three minutes each). Sue then leads the discussion with a selection of questions\, exploring the story\, characters and themes in more depth. \nIf you have discovered a book you would love others to enjoy\, please bring it along and recommend it for a future Book Club. \nNext Month’s Book\nAuthor: Cressida Downing \nTitle: Consider the Ravens

SUMMARY:Partial Eclipse - Wittenham Clumps
DESCRIPTION:Host: Tracy \nMeeting: \n5.45pm – Car Park\, Wittenham Clumps \n6.00pm – Walk uphill to a viewing point.  Please bring chairs\, food and drink. \nPartial eclipse timings\n6.16pm – The eclipse beginsThe Moon starts to move across the Sun. At first\, it will look like a small “bite” appearing at the edge. \n6.45pm onwards – The change becomes much more noticeableMore of the Sun will be covered\, and the quality of the light may begin to feel slightly unusual. \n7.13pm – Maximum eclipseThis is the key moment. From the Oxford area\, the eclipse magnitude will be approximately 0.929\, with around 91% of the Sun’s surface covered. It will not become completely dark\, but the light should noticeably dim and the temperature may drop slightly. \n8.06pm – The eclipse endsThe Moon will have moved completely away from the Sun. The entire event lasts approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes. \nVery important safety information\nThis is a partial eclipse at Wittenham Clumps\, not a total eclipse. There is therefore no point at which it is safe to look directly at the Sun without proper protection. \nEveryone must use genuine eclipse glasses marked: \nISO 12312-2 or ISO 12312-2:2015 \nOrdinary sunglasses are not sufficient\, and eclipse glasses must not be used through binoculars\, cameras or telescopes. Those devices require their own specialist solar filters fitted to the front. Cloud cover does not make direct viewing safe. \nImage from the Earth Trust website.

SUMMARY:Book Club with Sue - (Consider the Ravens by Cressida Downing)
DESCRIPTION:Book Club with Sue\nWhether you are an avid reader or simply looking for great conversation\, our monthly Book Club is a relaxed and welcoming way to spend an evening. Hosted by Sue in her home\, you will enjoy friendly discussion over a cup of tea or coffee\, kindly provided by Sue. \nThis Month’s Book\nAuthor: Cressida Downing\nTitle: Consider the Ravens \nBook Club Guidance\nTo help everyone enjoy the discussion and take part\, we ask that members read the book in full before attending. \nNext Month’s Book\nAuthor: TBC\nTitle: TBC

SUMMARY:Monthly Crafts & Connect- Kinusaiga
DESCRIPTION:Host: Kaz \nTheme: Kinusaiga \nTake some time out to relax\, get creative and enjoy great company. Hosted by Kaz\, our friendly Craft Club is suitable for all abilities\, whether you are an experienced crafter or simply fancy trying something new. Crafting together makes conversation flow naturally\, making it easy to chat\, connect and build new friendships in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. \nAbout this session:\nKinusaiga is a 20th-century Japanese art form\, often called “quilt art without sewing\,” that involves creating intricate\, vibrant images by pressing fabric scraps into\, or tucking them into\, slits cut into a foam or wooden board. It acts as a sustainable\, no-sew\, and meditative craft\, traditionally using silk but now commonly employing upcycled textiles. \nStart collecting scraps of material or buy fat quarters from sewing shops in colours that you like. \nPlease note that attendees purchase their own food and refreshments from the venue. \nNew to Blended Wellbeing? 💜 Please contact Tracy if you would like to be met on arrival or introduced to a friendly buddy. We are here to help you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
